i have just downloaded 4.0 firmware so i can downgrade my iphone 3g. i used felixbruns to downloads.

the problem i have is the download is not a ipsw file. i think they are dsu files. how do i change them to ipsw as redsnow wants ipsw files for the search.

or can someone advise where i can get os 4.0 ipsw file.

i would love some advice as i have been at it for about 6hrs to try get my iphone jailbroken.

please help, cheers in advance. tony

Rename the file Extention from ".zip" to ".ipsw"

Download 4.0.1 and save to desktop. When you restore (hold "shift" restore) point iTunes to the 4.0.1 fiel on your desktop. IF your shsh are saved it should be fine. Then reJB.
