Pls. help me jailbreak the right way.

I have a jailbroken (blackra1n) 3GS w/ firmware 3.1.2 I also need to unlock because I have Tmobile as my carrier. Which programs are the best and easiest to use to jaibreak and unlock? I really want to upgrade to iOS4. Any help would be great! thanks. Btw, I will be using a mac.

Use the new 4.01 pwnagetool from the dev team to "cook" a custom jailbroken 4.0 firmware, then restore to that. To unlock simply install ultrasn0w from Cydia and that's it!
