jailbroken need help ?

i have a friend that has a jailbroken iphone now he wants to get the app store from apple without having to update his firmware since hes not using the att/cingular network. im not to familiar with the whole jailbreak thing, so how can he get the apps store on his phone or what other options does he have. any info would be great

The APP store should already be on the phone. Jailbreaking does not remove it.

he has 1.1.4 or something like that on it said he doesnt have it? is he wrong ?

He has to upgrade to 2.x to get the App Store. Upgrading to the latest firmware (2.2) will prevent him from unlocking the phone. He needs to upgrade to 2.1 and wait for the unlocking tool from the dev team (should be released Jan 1st).

so he can jailbreak to 2.1 and he'll have the app store then ? it wont mess anything up will let ? and where can i get the info to upgrade to jailbreak 2.1 ? thanks for the reply

He needs to restore his iPhone, update it, and then jailbreak it.

he is already jailbroken but at 1.1 i believe he just wants to upgrade and doesnt know that exact procedure from where to go next.

be careful there... he is already unlocked and on a non-att carrier... if he just goes and downloads the latest upgrade from apple (2.2) he will be unable to re-unlock the phone...

finding a copy of the 2.1 or 2.0 software might be tricky, I wouldnt even know where to find it.

He wants to upgrade to 2.2? OK, well, have him restore the iPhone completely. Then jailbreak and unlock it using QuickPWN.
