Backup or sync itunes purchased music from iPad

Hello,everyone! I am a iPad jackaroo.
How do i do a backup or copy/paste to hard drive all the songs existing in my ipad which most of them i purchased online at itunes?
When i try to synch with itunes program it says it will delete all of them and paste the library of my computer！
What can do me a favor to transfer iPad music to iTunes?

Check the "import" function. You import files/songs into itunes.
And don't auto sync, otherwise, iTunes will replace all iPad existing songs.
I've suffered loss of all my iPad music files. It's so upsetting.

If you're using a Mac, I highly recommend you use Senuti. Not too expensive, and copies all your music/video from your iDevice to your hard drive.
