Can I keep using my 3gs and my i4 on the same itunes?

just got the i4 and i still have 3gs i did a restore from the 3gs if i change the name of the phone i4 can i use and sync them both? not to make calls but like with apps and updates and thing i purchase. noob question i just dont want the two changing things on echother.
