Is there a fast wireless charger that’ll charge an iPhone X and a Galaxy S7?

Not sure where I should have posted this, but I have an iPhone X and my husband has a galaxy s7. His phone has "fast charging" capabilities and apparently so does the iPhone X. Only difference is his phone came with the fast charging adapter. Which leads to my questions....

I want to buy a wireless charger that will fast charge both of our phones. I have an Anker powerport 24 watt adapter with two usb ports. When I plug my husband's phone into that with his Samsung USB cable, his phone just says "charging" yet when I plug it in to the Samsung fast charging adapter his phone came with it says "fast charging"

I was going to buy a generic fast charging wireless charger on Amazon and use the Anker adapter with it, since majority of the wireless chargers do not come with an adapter.

I heard I need a 12 watt adapter like apples iPad charger, but the Anker is 24 watts divided by the two usb ports and that doesn't seem to fast chargw. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Re: Need a lesson on "fast charging" wireless chargers

For a fast charging wireless pad or stand to work, it also needs a suitable fast charge wall charger. Some come with them, most don't. Any wall charger will need to be listed as Quick Charge (or QC) 2.0 or 3.0 to do the trick. The 3.0 is the current latest standard, so if the cost difference doesn't sway you, the 3.0 is more "future proof".

Here's a good, recent article: https://www.imore.com/best-wireless-chargers-iphone#anker. The Anker would be my recommendation, as it actually comes with the appropriate wall charger. https://forums.imore.com/e?link=htt...2FPowerPort-Qi-10W-%2FA2513011&token=wTyMrDbZ

These are wall chargers that would work with wireless fast crage pads that don't come with chargers:

https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Charge-...hawk-future-ca-20&ascsubtag=UUimUvbUpU3030759

You'll see I've favoured the Anker. The Aukey versions are also reliable.

A last note -- quality cables are also required; again I stick to Anker and Aukey.

Hope this helps.

Very helpful, so basically the Anker powerport 2 adapter I have will not fast charge the Samsung or the iPhone because I need one that has quick charge 2.0 or 3.0. I like Anker as well so will get the 3.0 version.

Now my wireless charger up on my nightstand I don't mind being connected to a regular non quick charge adapter because I have it laying on the charger for 6-8 hours a night so I am sleeping anyway. But for my kitchen I want that fast charge boost before I run out somewhere and need a little extra juice

Re: Need a lesson on "fast charging" wireless chargers

I won’t mess with Third Party chargers but the 29W, 61W and 87W Apple USB-C chargers will all do fast charging on the X. They are pricier so that may deter you but I was able to get a 61W charger for $28 on eBay and a USB-C to Lightning cable for $17. Prices have gone up recently but if you look around you’ll be able to find good prices. When fast charging my X goes from 1% - 72% in about 37 minutes.

The 29W, 61W and 87W all do fast charging at the same rate. Meaning, the 87W charger doesn’t charge faster than the 29W.

I've had a bunch of third party chargers and never had any issues...a good reputable brand shouldn't pose any problems. Thanks for your input though, the apple USB c chargers are pretty expensive.

That sounds logical. No worries for overnight charging, and the fast charge for the quick boost.

So now I came across the article below and it talks nothing about needed a quick charge adapter. All it reiterates is a 5watt charger vs the new 7.5 watt capabilities in the iPhone X. It's so confusing!

We have two of the official Samsung fast wireless chargers and they both work flawlessly with our Xs.
