FaceTime will not connect on 7.1.1

Have realized this ever since I upgraded to ios 7.1.1, I have never been able to connect successfully to my Facetime. Tried both audio and video calls and it's jugs takes so long to connect. Should I say my internet? But no cos this same internet can do a video call on Skype without a single blink. Then I thought maybe it just takes a longer time to connect I tried hell no for like almost 3 mins it keeps saying connecting ....My girlfriend even thinks I'm playing a trick on her. Please can someone confirm if his or hers equally is that slow to connect?

Sorry, but I cannot confirm because mine connects fairly quickly with iOS 7.1.1 or at least it did the last time I used FaceTime....
