Important calls?

When I had a blackberry, I could set my ringer off, and it would silence all incoming calls but I could set some contacts so that they would still ring. Any apps for the iPhone that can silence all calls except for certain contacts?

there is no way to do this. a third party app can not change how the phone app works.

I say set said callers that you WANT to speak with, with a certain ring tone. When calls come in, just mute them unless it's X ring tone.

Or contrarywise...set the default ringtone to silence and assign actual ringtones to the people you want to hear from.

It's a long work around but basically I just made my own silent ringtone and set it to default and gave people who I don't wanna miss calls from a custom ringtone. Badda bing badda boom

Exactly. Notice I said "silence" (a ringtone), and not "silent," which suggests a setting.
