I use a 2.4 charger and it usually charges my 6s to full in just over an hour from 20%.

Last night I timed my 7+ from 18% and it took about 2 hours. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. The battery in the 7 Plus is quite a bit larger than the battery in the 6s. If you have a 10W or 12W iPad charger you can use that and get a quicker charge.

It's 2.4amp. I don't see the wattage

If it's 2.4 amp technically it sjouldbbcharge at faster speed, I usually don't buy 3rd party ones, the charger that comes with iPhone is 1A.
Personally I would only use iPad pro charger from apple if I'm looking for faster charging. Or Anker powerbanks with smart chip are very good of I ever need a charge during a day.

My last 2 phones had 3000mah batteries that charged in just over an hour to full.

Just used to that is all lol
