Apple TV & Paramount+ - Weird Issue

Last night, we decided to watch episode 1 of the new NCIS Sydney on Paramount+. It would not play. Instead, the little wait symbol spun endlessly.

First thought of course was no internet, but no, that was not the problem. Second thought, maybe Paramount+ is temporarily down, but no, I was able to stream episode 2 and episode 3 of the same show. Third thought, maybe I need to restart the Apple TV. I did and it didn't matter. Baffled, I switched over to my Fire Stick and watched episode 1 with no problem.

I just checked again, and episode 1 shows as played, but it will not play on any of my Apple TVs (I have several). And again, episode 2 will play.

Weird!!!

And your ATV is updated to the latest tvOS?

I’ll give this a try when I get home and see if I can duplicate the issue.

Yes. I checked it again just now and episode 1 still won't play. Two other Paramount+ shows we're watching play with no issues.

Ok, Apple TV model MLNC2LL/A (4th gen) running tvOS 17.1 (21K69) and first episode plays fine.

Hmmm. It still won't play for me. As I said, weird!
