Transfer downloaded song from iTunes to iPhone

I am fairly new to iTunes. How do I transfer a purchased song or ringtone from iTunes to my iPhone 6s Plus? Thanks!

Well if ur on ur iDevice signed into same account with which u purchased said item, u should be able to download it right from iTunes Store app...

I rarely use iTunes to transfer purchases anymore...

To skip above steps for future purchases go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores and enable Music.
Any purchase you do on your computer will simultaneously download to your iPhone as well.

Open iTunes and sign in, plug phone into computer and once iTunes recognizes your phone it should automatically synchronize and send the song to your phone.
