Signal issues with 6s plus

Just a few hours ago I switched from the Sim Free 6s to the Tmobile 6S Plus. I wanted to the iPhone upgrade program and the image stabilized camera. I do plan to switch to Verizon within the next few weeks. Coverage is horrible outside or the urban areas here. Anyway, I noticed that I'm getting fewer "bars" on the larger phone. Even in Seattle where Tmobile has okay coverage. I know the sim free version works on additional bands. Supposedly only applicable in countries like China. Not sure what the deal is. Coverage is everything.

Yup, I notice the signal difference too on my 6s+ on Verizon. Its just enough of a difference to be an annoying at times.

Anybody on T-Mobile use the field test indicator to see if their phone connects to Band 12. I'm supposed to have band 12 coverage in my area but my phone connects to band 4 but it doesn't connect to Band 12 in building cause when I go to church my phone either has no service or is on 4G with one bar. It doesn't make sense if T-Mobile is advertising this better spectrum why it wouldn't switch over automatically when you have a crappy signal.

This is interesting!

I started to wonder if it was carrier-dependent, now wondering if it's to do with buying a carrier-specific version vs. SIM-free?

Inside my iPhone 6s Plus is on par with my Wife's 5c. My iPhone 5 gets the best signal. Not sure why. They all do well outside.

I'm still not happy with the wireless signal I get with my 6s Plus here at home. Here's a comparison between my 6s Plus and my old iPhone 5. The 6s Plus is at -114 (2 dots) and the iPhone 5 is at -90 (4 dots).
Makes no sense unless the 5 has a better antenna.
