Stocks App Using Battery

I noticed that the stocks app, although it runs in the background according to my iPhone, uses 10% or so of my battery daily. I don't open it al all, I have background app refresh turned off. I assume this is because it is on the screen when I swipe down. Regardless, how can I remove it from the screen or keep it from using so much of my battery? I have made no changes to it and I can't see how I could.

Help?

You rock! Thanks!

Now what is traffic conditions all about as I never see any? Seems weather comes first but no way I see to remove that? The stock weather app I mean, seems that is permanently there?

Gotcha! It does not show up as using even 1% of battery so maybe I'll keep it? I guess it only updates when I pull the screen open?
