I live in the US, and I am thinking of calling the Apple Store in a major city in Italy to buy an iPhone 5 or an iPad etc. for an ex-pat friend of mine. But I have no idea if this is possible, really.
What network do they use? Would it be better to send an unlocked Sprint iPhone 4S that's sitting on my shelf? (I use a 5 now.)
Will the store there take an order and deliver it? Can I have them keep a secret and just call her to have her come and pick up a "Secret Santa" gift?
