how come you have to take pictures with your iphone with the volume buttons facing down to come out right side up? why cant you just take pics with the volume button pointing to the sky and have the pics come out right? anyone know how to fix this issue and still have the volume buttons pointing up when taking a pic?

Frustrating isn't it? Makes you wonder if Apple really tests anything.
Nothing really can be done about it now, but I've read in posts about the 5.1 beta that it'll apparently be fixed when that version is finally released.

:) there is another thread around here somewhere, lol, that i remember seeing covering this exact issue. If you try a search, you'll possibly find it, but if my memory isn't to fuzzy, i think i recall someone posting that if you want to use the volume up/down buttons to take the pix, to turn your phone upside down so those buttons wind up on the bottom right side. And then the pix won't be upside down.

plz don't quote me on that, but i'm pretty sure that was the fix for that problem.

I've read a fix is on the way...it's been like that since the iPhone 4 came out (and maybe before that even). Honestly though, every email program in existence has a picture orientation option on it, so if its a matter of simply viewing it properly, just orient it right and you're fine...and when they are saved to the computer (at least on a macbook) they are oriented properly when saved.

Win7 flips them, too. You'll see some import upside, but it corrects when you save.
