transfer backup 3gs * iphone 4

i have a 3gs backup in itunes,im trying to restore my new iphone 4 whith thhat backup,but i cant restore the contacts , how i can restore my contacts to the 4

What happens when you try to restore the contacts?

Did you try using Outlook or a Yahoo/Gmail account? It should transfer your contacts properly.

I just went through this (upgraded last week) and had no issues whatsoever. Fresh backup, new phone, restore. I lost the settings from a few apps (games, who cares for the most part), and had to transfer my tunes again, but the contacts came through perfectly. 4.3.3 3GS to a (then) 4.3.2 i4.

If ya still have the old phone, try backing up again, or syncing the contacts to outlook, etc. and that should work.

thats the problem ,everything get restore but contacts dont,,,how i can restore the contacts???
its the 3gs contacts backup its compatible with i4??

Itunes actually prompted me on whether I wanted to "set up as new phone" or "restore form backup". I restored from the backup of my 3G (not 3GS). It seemed to work fine.

I have all my MMS/contacts/photos, and game settings. I'm pumped!
