Is 4.2.7 the newest software?

when i go to settings, general then about and i look at the version on my iphone is says 4.2.7 (8E303) is that the most up to date and newest software for the verizon iphone4?

The AT&T iphone is higher (iOS 4.3.2), that might be where you got mixed up. Hopefully when iOS 5 comes out everyone will be at the same software number.
