apps starting themselves

What reason do apps have for starting themselves if I shut them down?

I closed all apps from the tray and the did a reboot before charging the phone last night. I did not use my phone at all until I turned it on this morning. Three apps were back in the tray as if they were used during that time.

The apps were: Voices, Just Light, AJE Live and Tiny Planets

Might be the problem with your internet... if your internet is ad supported, then they will mostly starts and update on their own..
