Volume control on 3gs

I have a 3gs and notice unless I am in something actively using the speakers the volume rocker always adjusts the ringer. Even if the phone is on vibrate. Is there an app or a way to control the system volume and the ringer independently?

I also notice that the volume adjustment is a little hard to keep track of. I, of course, now just continually check to make sure volume is up. Would be nice to set ringer volume and have it stay that way

Had no problems with my 3Gs

I have probelms with this as well.

Some games do not have independent volume controls so it's easy to change the ringer volume within a game.
