Iphone ringtones

hi all,

i was just wondering how to get my own ringtones on my 3g iphone as the irish itunes store has no ringtones for sale yet which is crazy!! i used some 3rd party s/w to do this before but when i sunc my phone itunes just deletes the tones!!
