Cellular / WiFi version - Which does iPad choose to use first?

Hello I was thinking of getting the cellular version of the iPad 11. I was wondering if I get it with cellular, when I’m at home will it first look to use Wifi or cellular?

Just like an iPhone it will use WiFi when connected to a WiFi network and cellular when not connected to a WiFi network.

This was question when I chose mines as well. But to save money I went with the WiFi and ended up upgrading to the larger memory. I get free hotspot through my work phone and don’t really need the cellular that much where the phones hotspot won’t suffice. More memory was a better deal for me as I love taking pictures with my dslr and editing them.
