Which iPad Pro is best for split screen?

Thought I had my mind made up on getting the ipad pro 10.5. But I really want to utilize the split screen option. Would the 12.9" be better? Some reviews says that the 10. 5" will only show the we second app in an iPhone screen side. Isn't that just the " slide over"? Can't I move the screen size for that app to the middle to make it "split screen"? Or would the12.9" just be a better choice to do split screen on? Also, if the 1 2.9 is the way to go, if I bought the 12.9 1st generation, and it had iOS 9, would it get the iOS 11 update?

See this for all your answers: www.imore.com/ipad-multitasking

For your iOS 11 question,
Yes, the iPad Pro 12.9" first generation does support iOS 11, and will most probably get atleast two more major iOS releases. i.e. iOS 12 and 13.

In my opinion, the 12.9” iPad Pro will be best for split view, followed by the 10.5” and then the 9.7” models.

Agreed!
I’ve used the 12.9” for almost two years and it’s great for multitasking. But, it’s not as portable as I would like it to be.

You can spit the screen equally on the iPad Pro 10.5' for those apps that are supported.
Mine works find and I use the split screen daily.
Good Luck

On that's awesome. Was wondering if it was possible to do split screen equally on the 105". I absolutely believe that, that answer might have solved my problem. I would love the portability of the 10.5". If I may ask just one more question, how much larger is the 10.5" over the ipad pro 9 .7" actually? Is the screen noticeably bigger? Are we talking only an inch? I know the tablet itself is not much larger, but is the screen really worth getting the 10.5" ? Because I really want more screen real estate than the 9.7" offers, and if the 105" is not larger by much, I know I would have to opt for the 1 2.9"i

Definitely bigger due to the larger screen & the narrower screen bezel.
Check out the  site for exact dimensions.
Perfect for me.
Good Luck

The 10.5” is still small compared to the 12.9”.
I’d recommend going to the Apple Store and checking it out in person

I agree, comparing them side by side is the true test.
Good Luck

Yeah, I went to the Apple Store yesterday and I’m digging the size of the 10.5”. It feels more like a tablet, while the 12.9” feels like a computer.

Split screen is great on the 12.9” though.

Thanks, I did check them out at best buy. I see where the 105 is more portable, but, wow, the 12.9 screen is beautiful. So, I'm thinking, someone suggested I get the 2015 1st gen iPad pro 12.9" (9x or 10x)? , I was told that it would get the iOS 11 update. Since we're at the end of 2017, would that be ok to get the 2015 model?

Yup, definitely, if you’re looking for a slightly cheaper Pro with nearly the same features, the 2015 Pro is the way to go, although I would recommend shelling out the few bucks and getting the full experience in the 2017 Pro.

Or you could simply wait until next year for the iPP 3.
The 12.9” is beautiful, but the size might bother you in the long run.

10.5” all the way.
The thinner bezels, pro motion, true tone, and A10X are a few of the things that will make your iPad experience that much better.
