So I have Google carddav contacts synced on my iPhone and iPad. On my iPhone, the phone numbers get saved as xxxx yyyyyyy, where X is the network code and Y is the phone number. However, on the iPad, it's saved as xxxxyyyyyyy with no spacing. This is causing an issue where on my iPad, the messages I receive have no contact name associated with them even though it's showing up in the contacts app.
This is only happening for those contacts where the number is showing without any spacing on the iPad contacts app. The same contact number however shows up as with a space on my iPhone contacts app and thus shows up correct in the messaging app. Even when I add a new contact on my iPhone, it automatically adds a space after xxxx, where as it does not do that on the iPad.
I have even tried adding the Google account the conventional way and not through carddav, but it makes no difference on the iPad. Both devices have the same region format.
