Gmail doesn’t support split screen?

I’m trying to use Gmail in split screen but it isn’t working. Is this one of those apps that doesn’t support split screen? I found settings won’t do split screen, either.

I looked and I do not see any updates to say it’s supported yet.

The question is when will Google support the split screen feature in iOS?
