The problems with screen protectors for the new pro models are well documented. But has there been an explanation as to why the touch issues exist in the first place? And do we really know if any of the manufacturers are actually working on a fix? I love my otterbox defender for pro 11 but I’m seriously about to rip the screen protector off and keep it in the case without one.

Well, I came across this article:

I have the 9.7" IPP and I've never experienced and touch issues since day one, and I use mine daily for photo editing. Now I also don't have an OtterBox case on it. I just have the tri-fold cover with a screen protector and Apple Pencil, but never had any touch issues. I use the pencil when I'm editing fine detail photos but the rest of the time I'm using my finger and sometimes a stylus.
