Help! The restore from iCloud backup didn't work :-(

I just got an iPad mini & I'm trying to restore my data from iCloud. Before turning in my iPhone 5 I did one last backup & then I did a Restore From iCloud when setting up my mini. But none of my messages or pictures or notes or anything are here. I'm not even that worried about my pics because I had backed them up on my computer but I really want my notes!! Can someone please help me?? I really don't understand the point of paying for iCloud when you can't even easily access your files :-/

Go to Settings-iCloud via your Mini and see if iCloud is enabled and configured. If it is not, go ahead and enable it and then enter your credentials. If it is configured and the settings are as you has it with your iPhone 5, then give it some time, especially if you have a lot of photos.
Alternatively, you can go to Settings-General-Reset and then select "Erase All Contents and settings" and then attempt to restore from iCloud when prompted.
