Since installing ios14 yesterday evening in my 11 pro max, the battery drain has been greater than it had been in the past.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks

Re: Ios14 battery drain

Always takes a few days to settle in hopefully two or three days and a couple of reboots will solve it .

Re: Ios14 battery drain

Seeing battery drain also on my AW S5

Me too, a quite significant difference. I have just turned background refresh off, which I didn’t know was on. Hopefully that makes a difference. The watch weirdly seems to be taking longer to charge too.

Re: Ios14 battery drain

I just turned off background refresh on my phone. will see if that makes a difference.

..personally, I'm wondering whats the point of background refresh for things besides the weather and news apps?

Do you have hand washing enabled?

Apparently, that uses a lot of resources to listen and detect.

Re: Ios14 battery drain

It’s on the watch… it s nothing to do with iOS.

Just replying to those that mention that the battery life reduced with the Apple Watch.

Battery life with my iPhone 11 Pro Max has been great with iOS 14, and I’ve been running it since June.

turned off background refresh on all but 9 apps..and went to bed with the battery at 96%. woke, turned on the wireless..came back to the phone after breakfast, played some gundam..battery's down to 93%.

so that sorted out the idle battery drain, but it still chugs the battery pretty fast when I'm actively using the phone.

I don’t think I’ve noticed any battery drain. All I know is Bruce Lee’s Be Water from ESPN is playing in PiP while I’m in the forums. This was my one must have feature for iOS and one huge reason why I switched over.

Just noticed that the system blocks out the picture. Loving this feature.

The first day after the iOS 14 update I would say yes, probably because I was experimenting with the new widgets and features. It seems to have settled down or I have stopped messing with my iPhone so much now that I have set up the new iOS and finished experimenting...LOL .

I have been running iOS 14 since June. I wouldn’t even remember what iOS 13 battery life was like. Battery seems fine to me. Now I don’t run watch betas so when I loaded watch OS 7, I noticed significant less battery with the new watch OS.

Nope. Currently running iOS 14 on an 11 pro max and an Xs max.

Battery and performance have increased for me, especially on the 11 pro max.

Im also using the dual sim feature, which in theory should stress the battery more.
