If you are using a jailbreak on your iOS device then you probably already know that whenever a new version of iOS is released, you are always advised against downloading and installing it straight away. I didn?t understand why?

Because the jailbreak exploit in most cases wouldn't be able to exploit the new update in order to be jailbroken. Perfect example is what has happened as of late. iOS 7.0.4 was jail breakable and when 7.0.5 and 7.0.6 hit, it wasn't recommended to update to those new versions until the exploiters of the jailbreak pushed out an update of the jailbreak tool to jailbreak those iOS versions. Those were quickly pushed out. Now on iOS 7.1, no jailbreak has been released since 7.1 was pushed out 8 days ago. So if you're on 7.0.6 you don't necessarily want to just jump to the new OS unless you're willing to lose your jailbreak and wait for the next one for the time being.
