Changing My AppleID

I have an iPhone 4s and a 3rd generation iPad and both are running iOS 5.1.1. They are both attached to iTunes through my current Apple-ID. I want to change my current Apple-ID to something else. The question is: Can I do this and still restore all my apps and everything associated with my current Apple-ID, or do I have to start from scratch, loosing everything? Thanks for the help.
