Purplera1n vs redsn0w

So a few nights ago I jb'd my 3gs using purplera1n.

Today I got winterboard up and running..

All is well, but I am curious if one jb is better than the other?
Should I restore and jb with redsn0w or is it all the same once you have cydia?

Ok How did you get winterboard running. I downloaded it, then when I went to update it cydia crashed, now I cant even open cydia. What did you do?

I just downloaded it through Cydia and opened it..
Got a nice theme up and everything.

When did you download winterboard?

I downloaded it today. Wierd. I did a restore and I am going up to RC2a. Hopefully it wilkl work this time. What version did you download?

I think i am going to JB via Purplera1n. I am curious about one thing. If you JB do you lose all ur info on the phone (like contacts, photos, texts)?

No, you will lose nothing. Purplera1n will do it's thing and return your iPhone back to you within a few minutes. The only difference will be a "Freeze" app that you can use to install Cydia with. Once Cydia is installed, launch it and perform the updates it recommends.
