Wi-Fi Drops When iPone & iPad Sleep

Spent the last 4 days at a Hilton that provided free access in the lobby/coffee shop & lounge.

No problems with my MacBook Air - even when I shut the lid & reopened it. The connection was there.
However, if my phone or my iPad went to sleep, the connection was lost after I hit the home button to wake them up.
Then I would have to go into settings & chose the Hilton Wi-Fi again.

Not a problem anywhere else that provides Wi-Fi

Any ideas?

Could it be that it cuts the wifi off to save battery when you put it to sleep?

But it doesn't do at other locations.

Once you're logged in, you're good for 24 hrs. Then you log in again.

Hmm maybe not stay at a hilton and problem solved? Lol I have no idea on that one honestly since it works everywhere else no problem.

Did you have to go and reconnect every time thought the settings or did you just let it sit and see if it would do it after a while?
