iOS 5.1 optimized for legacy devices?

On the original iPad I have, iOS 5.0.1 made things buggier and made apps crashier. Is the experience of the original iPad on iOS 5.1 better or worse? I'm trying to decide if I should install the upgrade.

I update my original iPad on Wednesday evening and it seems to be running well.

Safari was randomly crashing before update. Hasn't happened since.

I say go for it.

Thanks guys. It wouldn't let me install an ota update for some reason but I updated with iTunes. Everything seems speedier, apps aren't crashing yet, and videos on I more and the verge work a lot better now, and I can actually see the video when it's playing!

I'm not sure if I'm going to rejailbreak the iPad in case that caused any of the problems. the only reason to do so would be for sbsettings.
