Though it took awhile to get the software downloaded. Once it did I selected to back up the phone. After the install of the OS and the restart the new OS asked a few initial questions. I did not select to use the Icloud app. Everything else I excepted as normal. I was able to restore all my apps and my contacts were there. Maybe I got lucky who knows.
