MobileMe & Personal E-mail Accounts

I have a Hosted Exchange account that is expiring in October. Rather than renew, I'm thinking about moving over to MobileMe but I have one question that is a deal breaker...

I want to continue to use my own e-mail address and not the Me.com one. Can I do this? I saw postings online that show how to accomplish it on the iPhone and Mail.app on my Macbook, but does it work like GMail and I can do it from the actual Me.com website as well?

Basically I want to use my personal e-mail address with MobileMe and not the Me.com address they give you.

Your own email address meaning your
domain's email address?

eg. me@duvi.com

If so, are you using Google Apps? If not, you
can use it and set it up the iPhone using
ActiveSync. This is all free and you won't
need to purchase a MobileMe subscription.

Yes, I do mean my e-mail address, as in external address. I'm aware of GMail and really like it, but I was looking for something like MobileMe since it includes iDisk and Find My iPhone/iPad.

Just found this on the MobileMe website...

Support for external email addresses (new since the beta). Reading all your email in one place is easy with MobileMe Mail. You can receive email from another service by having the email forwarded to your me.com address.* And when you reply to a message using webmail, you can choose to send it from the address it was sent to, or from your MobileMe account.

I think I saw someone mention something of that
nature. I guess I'll check it out for you right now
as I have a Me account I never use... using my
GApps instead.

Awesome! Thanks. Basically I want all of the features of MobileMe but I don't want to change my e-mail address.
Just checked... it exists. There is also a POP mail
option in case your mail provider doesn't support
forwarding.

Awesome. Thanks for your help!
No problem. I actually started playing with
MobileMe on windows a bit more and it has
improved a lot since. I still love all the rules
and labels with Gmail more, but maybe one
day Apple will get me back.

Yes this works on the web interface, but is it supported on the iPhone? It does me no good to have to log into the web interface to send email from my personal domain.
