Why "Rest Finger to Open" option doesnt work in my iPhone 5S?

I have read suggestions to use option of "Rest Finger to Open" to screen on iPhone 5S without using home or power button. I have activated this option in my phone but still need to press home button to screen on my iPhone.

The process to activate this option is Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button > Rest Finger to Open

Did you restart your phone? That might solve the issue.

If your phone is asleep, you still have to use the Home or Power button to wake it. Then when on the lock screen, rest finger to open.
