Is it worth switching to an Android mobile for a non-techie?

I don't really know much about technology, and customisable techie features are not important to me. (although being able to download previous versions of apps? Definitely!) But in regards to price (getting the most for the money you pay; not necessary) & camera quality, memory space etc. Also which brand would you recommend? Lesser known brands are fine with me as long as the phone is good!

N.B. I don't know much technical terminology, so would appreciate simple language!

iOS is about as easy as it gets so I'd stick with iPhone if I were you. Why are you thinking about switching?
