Calendar entries dissapeared?!

went to look at calendar entry from 4 months ago and found all of my entries, prior to Dec2015 gone....
This is something new as i have often referred back to previous entries. Help!

Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar> then scroll all the way down to the calendar section and tap on Sync and check all Events
