    I made a purchase and it downloaded a file on my computer, but I don't know how to access it.

    You can check in Finder then Downloads tab on the left and see if it appears there.

    Downloaded apps are typically placed in the Downloads folder on a Mac. Installed apps can be found in the Applications folder.
