IOS 9 - Any way to stop thumbnails in the photo album views?

IOS9 has added thumbnails. When you view your photos, the entire album is seen in a thumbnail scroll at the bottom of the picture you are viewing - I find the quite unnecessary by default - any way to stop it?

I don't think there is a way not to have the photo thunbnails, but I think it's kinda KOOL, and different....Personally I LIKE the new thumbnail look.
