Multiple web pages from previous searches appear when I do a safari search

When I do a safari search often I will be presented with a screen of multiple web pages as previous search pages appear. All I want is for my current safari search to appear as it is very frustrating when all these previous searches appear and it is hard to locate the search you have just done. This has only happened since IOS 8 ,how do I stop thisd

Settings>> Safari>> Clear History and Website Data
