Airport Extreme vs T-Mobile Asus Router

I have a new (latest version) Airport Extreme and a free T-Mobile Asus router. The Asus router blows away the Airport Extreme. What am I doing wrong? Both are set up to factory settings in bridge mode since my modem is in the garage and the routers are in the house. They sit right next to one another.

Give 'em a little space... and make sure they're not conflicting in channels in use not only between the two - but other devices in the immediate vicinity.
