Why does my iPod crash into safe mode so often?

Quite frequently since I jailbroke it my iPod touch 4g crashes into safe mode a lot. Is there a way to prevent this/make my iPod faster?

It could be related to the most recent change you made since jailbreaking... undo the most recent things you did one at a time until the device stabilizes and you'll know what the culprit is/was - and don't do that anymore.
