Phone wont turn off and it is VERY slow won't change screens

The Iphone will not turn off and it won't go into any apps. Tried to get into settings to turn off find my phone so I can back it up but can't do that either.

Can you do a hard reset? Hold the home button and the power button down until screen goes black and then powers back up. Let go when you see the apple

Can you share what model or version of iPhone with what IOS it currently has installed and this will give us more of what we need to advice you properly.
