how to restore a liquid damaged Iphone

I damaged my iPhone 5 in water. I then dried it out in rice in the oven at 145 degrees for 36 hours. Now it shows a cable and the iTunes logo but nothing else. I tried restoring it thru iTunes. What next?

What a bummer...Like everyone said, The rice more than likely would have worked. Never use heat of any kind.

iPhone in a 146 degree oven for 36 hours is pretty intense. One of the basic device warnings is about not leaving a device in the sun in a car.
