Private browsing is an option in most browsers used to search things that people don't want to be saved in their cookies or history.

To turn off this option for Safari open up Settings and scroll down to the Safari option, tap that and you should see Private browsing slid onto ON slide it to off and choose either to keep current tabs open or closed.

For the Chrome app just click that little square in the top right and tap the X button on the screen and that how you close it.

What is private browsing?
Basically, Private Browsing is viewing the web without creating a history file
How has it set itself without me knowing?
It shouldn't. Private browsing has to be manually set by the user.
How to turn it off?
If you're on your iPhone, fire up the Safari browser, tap the last icon depicting 2 sheets of paper and then select "Private". If it is enabled, there will be a gray background underneath private.
Any help welcomed
