What can I do to ensure the Digital Crown is getting fully cleaned?

Hi guys, the Series 3 is my first Apple Watch. Over the last couple of days, my crown seems to be harder to turn. If I run the watch under warm water and dry, it’ll get smooth again only to return to being more difficult again. I don’t wear lotions or any of that. Those of you who are veterans, what can I do to ensure it is getting fully clean in there?

Apple recommend running it over warm water, it’s probably due to sweat or other debris that got stucked inside it.

Run it under water while pressing and turning the crown. That works for me.

I think that's the way to roll. Using anything along with the water might help wetness get somewhere it doesn't belong. A dilute solution of liquid soap (less residue than bar soap) and low pressure running water might be ok. For now I'll try plain 'ol water. I only recently noticed the crown on two of my Watches to stick on the initial turn.
