Use iPad mini to browse library and tell Apple TV to start playing a movie.

I have an iPad mini set up and mounted on my wall in my hallway as a aggregation point for all my home automation control. I am looking to see how my wife could use the iPad to instruct one of our Apple TV's to start playing a movie from my purchase movies. I do not want to stream from the iPad mini to the Apple TV. I want the Apple TV to be playing the movie from my cloud library right on the Apple TV. Make sense? Any ideas...
