I can see it make a bit of difference for some but the Siri remote needs very infrequent charging. For me maybe three times in the last year. Imho that makes the charging port mostly inconsequential. I have a couple devices I also dig the charger out for every once and a while. Just not a big deal for device X charger to sit in a small box in a cupboard somewhere, to be used infrequently.
Imho for a Siri remote change to be billed “something we have all been waiting for”, put the U1 chip and a small speaker in it. Allow FindMy, audible pinging, the precision location feature. Now that makes a consequential change and a Siri remote upgrade I’d pay for.
