I too don't have cassette player not AUX port so I bought one of this fm transmitter and it works great! True you will never get a cd quality sound but i dont listen my music full blast and most of the time it works fine for me. I too have tried those expensive transmitters but after comparing all, they all work similar and the key is to find the right frequency. Also try to find a sweet spot for your transmitter which gives you consistent signal like cup holder or door handle!

Re: listening to music in car -

My daughter listens to her Ipod music in her car on her long long drive to work. She says she cannot hear it very well. Her car is old has no cd, cassette or port. She only has AMFM radio;
is there anything she can buy to hook to the car speakers that will make the sound louder and more clear?

Thanks! :)
