How do I stop calls from going to voice mail?

I have sent way too many calls accidentally to voicemail when the phone rings. Often my iPhone 7 is in my pocket when rings then when I reach in to get it I hit touch the decline button. Is there a way toavoid this?

Buy a Bluetooth headset and then answer the calls with them.
